January marks the 25th anniversary of the club and was planned as a good night to celebrate on Wednesday 28 January 2026. Since the closure of Ryan’s Bar in December 2025, this celebration has now been moved to the lovely Mildmay Club on Newington Green and tickets can be purchased through their website. The evening will feature a trio with Alan Wilkinson on reeds, Caius Williams on double bass and Steve Noble on drums; a quartet of Maggie Nicols on voice etc, Gina Southgate on bric-a-brac, Sam Andreae saxophone and Mark Sanders drums; and a duet of Angharad Davies and Rachel Musson. The whole will be admirably compered by Stewart Lee.
Entrance for this gig has gone up by £2 as there’s expenses involved, but advance tickets are available as well as entrance as usual on the door. It would be good if we sell some advance, which won’t have a booking fee, to reassure the club people are coming!
Doors will be at 7.30pm and the music from 8pm-ish. See you there.
